2018 to Present
Like all organizations, we must evolve to meet the needs of our community. With so many powerful organizations stepping up around critical concerns for women in Ventura County, rather than hosting regular forums, we have been supporting their events with our boots, sponsorship, collaboration, and communication tools (see below).
The most up-to date information about such efforts can be seen on our Facebook page with samples below.
Simultaneously, we have been establishing ways for Ventura County women to have a stronger voice in the national and global community in collaboration with The Acorn Project…
…and we earned UN ECOSOC Consultative Status in 2020!
To represent our coastal community, in 2024, we worked with Coastal Keepers to provide input for the 2025 UN Ocean Conference.
In 2026, we hosted 20 Ventura County Delegates at CSW70, the UN Women’s Conference at the UN Headquarters in NYC! Check out our History page for more information about this historical first delegation:
We Traveled.
From airport chaos during a government shutdown and a war - through subways, snow, $1.50 pizza, Times Square, and a boat tour around Manhattan to see the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, and bridges - we made it to the UN Headquarters and back. As an organization and individuals, we experienced many firsts.
We Learned.
We participated in Official UN High Level, General, and Side Sessions as well as CSW Parallel Sessions with dignitaries, NGOs, and individuals - just like us - from around the world! Translation earphones ON!
We Engaged.
Ventura County was in the house! We made our presence, issues, solutions, and actions known.
We Collaborated.
Women’s rights are human rights. Disproportionately affected by all social, environmental, economic, justice, and health issues, solidarity is crucial.
We Networked.
From building local coalitions to global ones, we shared strategies and goals with peers from around the world - Haiti, Philippines, Iran, The Vatican, Minnesota, and Georgia to name a few. Someone out there is saying, “Wait until you hear what they’re doing about this in Ventura County, California!”
